While I wouldn't encourage any interest in the subject itself ( I saw a video footage of a staged fight between a lion and a tiger online once and it made me very angry), this thread on the All Empires history forum is really interesting by the sheer number of documents, photographs, paintings and illustrations about the interaction of lions and tigers and some history on big cats taming.
