I am surprised they are still claiming dolphins for themselves, since their meat isn't even remotely edible: dolphins are at the top of the food chain and accumulate heavy metals in their tissues which render their meat unfit for consumption. The Royals also claim ownership of mute swans but don't eat them anymore. Such customs are more of a status symbol than anything else: besides, I would expect that if they still ate swans for example, there would be an outcry.
